Our History

Our history dates back to 1997 when we opened our first office in Indonesia. Today, Altus’s business spans across continents, with offices in Asia Pacific, Europe, Americas, Middle East and Africa.

2016 In November 2016, Petrozchem (S) Pte Ltd fully completed the acquisition of Altus from Swire Pacific Offshore. This change in shareholding is expected to preserve the entrepreneurial spirit of the organization and provide added value to the existing business through enhanced IT solutions, strong finances and synergies from related businesses.
2013 Altus established its own facilities in Houston and Norway to service the global oil and gas market and thereby assuring Altus owned offices in each and every country we operate in.
2012 Altus Logistics sold a majority stake to Swire Pacific Offshore.
2010 OctAltus Logistics sets up Joint Venture in Dubai to serve the markets in the Middle East and UAE.
2010 JanAltus Logistics entered the China market with a registered office in Hong Kong and operational centers in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Shanghai.

2009 SepA holding company was established in Indonesia to manage the various Group’s businesses under one logistics unit.
2009 NovThe Group established Altus Oil & Gas Services in Indonesia to carry out small scale procurement for the Oil & Gas sector.
2009 MarAltus Logistics established itself in the United States.
2009 JulA holding company was established in Indonesia to manage the various groups' businesses under one shipping unit.
2009 FebThe group established a Stevedoring company in East Java to carry out stevedoring in Gresik and Surabaya for the Oil & Gas sector.
2008 SepAltus Logistics entered the Norwegian market as a gateway to Scandinavia and Europe.
2008 JulThe group established a joint venture to offer Crewing Services in Indonesia.
2007 SepAltus Logistics incorporated a company in Australia to service the upstream Oil & Gas, and mining industry in both Darwin and Perth.
2007 AugThe Group established a licensed rig agency company in Indonesia.
2007 JunThe Group strengthened its supply base capability in Indonesia through an acquisition to own the port management license in Gresik.
2007 MayAltus Logistics entered the Netherlands market based in Rotterdam, and as a gateway to Central Europe.
2007 FebAltus Logistics & Altus Oil & Gas Services received their first certification for the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001
2007 JanThe Group established a company dedicated to service customers in the Power sector in Indonesia.
2006 DecIncorporation of and Australian branch office in Darwin, as an extension of Altus Logistics Singapore
2005 JulStevedoring Services were established as an enabling function of the shipping company in Indonesia.
2005 JanThe Group established an Indonesian shipping company called Altus Lines Indonesia.
2004 NovThe Group established a company to carry out procurement business in the Oil & Gas sector in Indonesia.
2004 OctThe Group established a company to carry out logistics services in Indonesia.
2004 JunThe Loyang Supply Base in Singapore was established to service to service the Oil & Gas sector
2004 AprThe Group rebranded as "Altus".
2004 JanThe Group established a company to carry out man-power supply in the oil & gas sector in Indonesia.
2004 JanThe Group re-entered the Indonesian market as a licensed Indonesian shipping company to perform domestic shipping.
2003 JanThe Group re- entered the Indonesia market through affiliation with Phoenix Logistics Services Indonesia
2002 JunAltus Logistics received the ISO 9001:2000 Certification in Singapore.
2002 JunThe remaining 50% of the Logistics company in Vietnam was acquired to strengthen capability in this emerging market and ensure the service level was consistent with Altus's global standard.
2001 JunThe Group took a 50% stake in a Vietnamese Logistics Company to enter into the fast growing Vietnamese market.
2000 JanThe Group established a 50-50 Joint Venture with V.Ships Holdings Ltd as a means to consolidate activities for its in-house ship-management team
1999 NovAltus Logistics was established to house the Group's Logistics activities
1996 NovA Joint Venture was signed between the Group, Canada Steamship Lines Inc. and PT Adnyana to enter into a 15 year Contract of Affreightment with an Indonesian Power plant, Java Power.
1996 MarThe groups shipping unit received the International Safety Management (ISM), ISO 9002 and Safety and Environmental Protection (SEP) certifications from Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
1994 JanThe Group established two more companies to operate mid-stream transshipment business in Hong Kong to service the mid-stream container movement and the construction industry.
1992 DecThe International Enterprise of Singapore (trade development board) recognized the Group as an Approved International Shipping Enterprise.
1989 MayThe Groups international holding company was established as Altus Group Ltd
1975 DecThe Group's capability to run a pseudo liner-service between Southeast Asia and North Asia was strengthened with the establishment of companies in Hong Kong and Japan respectively to facilitate services for non-containerized general cargoes from Southeast China, Hong Kong, and Japan bound for Indonesia.
1975 JanThe Group established itself in Indonesia to service the maritime asset needs for offshore oil contractors in the region.
1974 DecThe Group secured its first vessel, the "ANDHIKA I"
1973 DecThe Groups first company was established to cater to the booming timber export from Southeast Asia to North Asia.

* FOOTNOTE: On 8 November 2004, the two remaining founding families of the Andhika Group agreed to split the ownership of the Andhika Group. The Sumantri family took over the international part, Andhika Lines Ltd, of the Andhika Group, which was subsequently re-branded under the 'Altus' name and logo. Neither Altus nor its shareholders retain any interest in the Indonesian Andhika.
